StartWar ("we", "our", "us") operates the StartWar mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. By using StartWar, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address (via Firebase Authentication)
• Display name or nickname (optional)
• Authentication provider used (Google, Apple, or email/password)
• Unique user identifier generated by Firebase

2.2 Gameplay Data

We store your game progress on our servers, including:

• Campaign state (selected nation, resources, conquered territories, turn history)
• Game statistics (wars won/lost, fastest domination time, total turns played)
• Leaderboard rankings and scores
• In-app purchase history (tier unlocks)

2.3 Device Information

We may automatically collect:

• Device type, model, and operating system version
• Push notification token (Expo Push Token, for delivering game notifications)
• Crash reports and error logs (if error tracking is enabled)
• App version and build number

2.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect location data
• We do not access your contacts, photos, or files
• We do not collect payment or financial information (handled entirely by Google Play)
• We do not use cookies or tracking pixels

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information exclusively to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the game service
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Save and restore your game progress across devices
• Display leaderboard rankings to all players
• Send push notifications about in-game events (you can disable these in device settings)
• Identify and fix bugs, crashes, and performance issues
• Enforce our Terms and Conditions

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Railway (railway.app) with PostgreSQL databases. Authentication is managed by Google Firebase. All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. We implement industry-standard security measures including JWT token authentication, rate limiting, and input validation.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We use the following third-party services strictly for app functionality:

• Google Firebase: Authentication and user management
• Expo (expo.dev): Push notification delivery
• Railway (railway.app): Server hosting and database
• Google Play: App distribution and in-app purchase processing

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will permanently remove your personal data and gameplay records within 30 days. Anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g., total games played) may be retained indefinitely.

• Rectify: Update your display name and nickname at any time
• Control: Enable or disable push notifications via device settings

8. Children's Privacy

StartWar is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. 9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
